Ezekiel 6 – A Message to America

The word of the Lord came to me:
"Son of man, turn your face toward the United States and prophesy against it.
Say: ‘This is what the Lord God says to the land of America: Look! I am coming against you. I will strike down your cities, your high places, your temples of pride, and your false gods.
Your idols will be smashed, your altars torn down, and your so-called sacred sites desecrated.
The people who worshipped these things—who sacrificed truth for pleasure, power, and prosperity—will fall by the sword, and their bodies will lie among their false gods.
In every city and countryside, devastation will spread. Churches that traded truth for popularity will be emptied. Mansions of luxury will crumble. Entertainment empires will fall silent. Your monuments to self will be brought low, and you will know that I am the Lord.

Some of you will fall by violence, others by famine or disease. Your pride will be broken. You will finally see the cost of forgetting your Maker.
But I will spare a remnant—those who still fear My name. Scattered across the nation and the world, they will remember Me.
In exile and sorrow, they will remember how they broke My heart with their unfaithfulness. They will loathe themselves for the evils they committed, for trading Me for gods of sex, money, and power.
And they will know that I am the Lord, and that I did not warn them in vain.’

This is what the Lord God says: "Clap your hands, stamp your feet, and cry out over all the wickedness committed in this land—for they will fall by sword, famine, and plague.
Those far away will die in exile. Those nearby will die in chaos. And those who hide will die in despair. My fury will be poured out in full.
Then, in every city park, every theater, every courthouse, every so-called church that bowed to the culture instead of My Word—they will know that I am the Lord.

I will stretch out My hand against this land and make it desolate from coast to coast. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’”

Disclaimer and Purpose:
This is not Scripture. It is a paraphrased application of Ezekiel chapter 6, written in modern language and context to provoke reflection, not to replace or rewrite the Word of God. Its purpose is to drive you back to the Bible—specifically the Old Testament—to see how God's warnings to Israel are not just historical, but instructive for us today. The New Testament makes clear that the Old Testament was written for our instruction: “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope” (Romans 15:4). And again, “Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction...” (1 Corinthians 10:11). Read Ezekiel 6 for yourself, ask God for understanding, and examine your own heart in light of His Word.
