Pride in being Red or Blue

The Right vs. The Left: A Treatise

The Crisis of Culture, Christ, and the Compromised Church

In the raging storm of modern politics, the faithful must see clearly: neither the Right nor the Left offers salvation. One seeks to enthrone man; the other seeks to erase God. And the Church, caught between fear and flattery, must repent and return to Christ alone.

The Right: A Gospel Replaced by Greatness

The American Right, particularly in its MAGA expression, claims to defend Christian values—but too often substitutes power for piety and nationalism for holiness.

It presents a false gospel:

  • A messiah figure (republican leader)

  • A sacred symbol (the flag)

  • A promised land (a “great again” America)

  • And a heretical creed: “We will save ourselves by strength.”

This is not Christianity—it’s idolatry.

“You shall have no other gods before Me.” – Exodus 20:3
“The anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” – James 1:20

Many Christians on the Right have excused:

  • Arrogance

  • Immorality

  • Vengeance

All in the name of “fighting the Left.” But this is compromise, not conviction.

“By their fruits you will recognize them.” – Matthew 7:16

The Left: A Gospel Replaced by Rebellion

Meanwhile, the Progressive Left has turned rebellion into religion. It parades sin as virtue and weaponizes compassion to overthrow God’s design.

They have:

  • Rejected biological reality in favor of gender confusion

  • Called abortion a right, not a tragedy

  • Mocked Scripture while celebrating perversion

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.” – Isaiah 5:20
“Male and female He created them.” – Genesis 1:27
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” – Jeremiah 1:5

They speak of inclusion but exclude God. They demand tolerance while silencing dissent. Theirs is not progress—it is apostasy.

“Just as Sodom and Gomorrah... indulged in sexual immorality... serve as an example.” – Jude 1:7

The Church: Between Compromise and Calling

Caught between these political idols, the Church has often lost its prophetic voice.

Some pulpits have become altars to political parties. Others, afraid of offending, have gone silent altogether. In both cases, the result is the same: a Church without power.

“Do not be conformed to this world…” – Romans 12:2
“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” – Ephesians 5:11

The mission of the Church is not to elect saviors but to proclaim the Savior. Not to win votes, but to make disciples. Not to preserve culture, but to preach Christ crucified.

What Must the Faithful Do?

  1. Repent – of political idolatry and cowardice.

“The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.” – Proverbs 29:25

  1. Return – to the unfiltered Gospel, even when it offends both sides.

“Faithful are the wounds of a friend.” – Proverbs 27:6

  1. Rebuild – faithful institutions: schools, churches, media rooted in truth.

“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” – 1 Corinthians 16:13

  1. Resist – both the siren song of the Left and the prideful swagger of the Right.

“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” – Zechariah 4:6

Final Word: A Remnant Must Rise

Both sides have gone astray:

  • The Right bows to power

  • The Left bows to passion

  • But the Church must bow to Christ

If we do not speak now, the stones will cry out. If we do not stand now, our children will fall. If we do not return to God, judgment will begin with the household of faith.

“If My people, who are called by My name, humble themselves and pray… then I will hear from heaven…” – 2 Chronicles 7:14
“Even now, declares the Lord, return to me with all your heart…” – Joel 2:12

Warning: Likely Controversial
In today’s climate, nearly every American—right or left—has taken a side, often with unshakable passion. But Christian, beware: this is not your primary battlefield. Too many believers, even well-meaning ones, drop subtle (or not-so-subtle) hints at their political preferences, often laced with pride, and in doing so, risk alienating brothers and sisters in Christ. This ought not to be. We are not first Republicans or Democrats—we are citizens of a higher Kingdom. Politics must always be secondary. In truth, it should hardly even enter the conversation when eternal souls are at stake. Jesus was clear: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness…” (Matthew 6:33). Let the world rage over rulers. Our mission is the Gospel. Anything less is a dangerous distraction.
