The Seriousness of God's Plan
“You Are Either With Me” — A Treatise on Obedience in the Age of Self
“Whoever is not with me is against me.”
— Jesus Christ, Matthew 12:30
1. God’s Word Is Final, Not Flexible
God speaks plainly. His commands are not open to re-interpretation by comfort-driven cultures or modern theologians.
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.”
— Isaiah 40:8
2. Jeremiah’s Generation Had Clear Instructions—So Do We
The Jews of Jeremiah’s day heard the Word. They ignored it. They perished.
So will we if we do the same.
“To whom shall I speak and give warning, that they may hear? Behold, their ears are uncircumcised, they cannot listen.”
— Jeremiah 6:10
3. Playing Around with God’s Patience Is Dangerous
Israel trusted in religious rituals, national pride, and worldly alliances.
But God wasn’t impressed.
“Do not trust in these deceptive words: ‘This is the temple of the Lord…’”
— Jeremiah 7:4
4. Comfort Is the Enemy of the Cross
Modern believers often choose safety over surrender, and therapy over theology.
Jesus calls for death—to self, to sin, to worldliness.
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
— Luke 9:23
5. There Is No Neutrality
You are either building with Christ or scattering against Him. There is no middle path. No spiritual Switzerland.
“Whoever does not gather with me scatters.”
— Matthew 12:30
6. Jesus Is Not an Add-On to a Good Life
He is Lord, or He is nothing to you.
“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?”
— Luke 6:46
7. The Gospel Is a Command
It’s not just good advice. It’s not a suggestion. It’s an ultimatum from the throne of heaven.
“God… now commands all people everywhere to repent.”
— Acts 17:30
8. The Cross Was Not Comfortable
If the center of our faith is a bloody, brutal crucifixion… why is modern Christianity so soft?
“Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.”
— Acts 14:22
9. Faith Without Obedience Is a Lie
Lip service is not Lordship. Obedience is the fruit of true belief.
“And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.”
— 1 John 2:3
10. Disobedience Is Still Rebellion
Rebellion wasn’t just Israel’s problem. It’s the default mode of every fallen heart.
“All we like sheep have gone astray.”
— Isaiah 53:6
11. Hell Is Full of Religious Pretenders
Jesus said many would claim to know Him. But obedience will be the difference.
“Depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.”
— Matthew 7:23
12. God Is Not Mocked
What we sow, we reap. What we excuse, He judges. What we hide, He exposes.
“God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.”
— Galatians 6:7
13. The Spirit Empowers, Not Excuses
The Holy Spirit does not coddle the flesh. He crucifies it.
“If by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.”
— Romans 8:13
14. You Can’t Love Jesus and Ignore His Words
To love Him is to obey Him. Period.
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
— John 14:15
15. Partial Obedience Is Full Disobedience
King Saul learned this the hard way. So will we.
“To obey is better than sacrifice.”
— 1 Samuel 15:22
16. Judgment Begins at the House of God
God judges His people first—not the pagans, but the pew-sitters.
“It is time for judgment to begin at the household of God.”
— 1 Peter 4:17
17. Revival Begins with Repentance, Not Rebranding
We don’t need new slogans. We need new hearts.
“Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.”
— Jeremiah 4:3
18. Christ Is Returning for an Obedient Bride
Not a worldly bride. Not a compromising bride. A holy, submitted, radiant bride.
“...without spot or wrinkle… holy and without blemish.”
— Ephesians 5:27
19. Only Those Who Endure Will Be Saved
Not starters. Not sprinters. Endurers.
“The one who endures to the end will be saved.”
— Matthew 24:13
20. Fear God, and Keep His Commandments
This is not legalism. It’s wisdom. It’s worship.
“This is the whole duty of man.”
— Ecclesiastes 12:13
Final Word
The Jews in Jeremiah’s day trusted in rituals, refused repentance, and fell under wrath.
Christ now offers a better covenant, sealed in His own blood. But the call is no less serious.
Obedience is not optional. It’s the evidence that we’ve been born again.
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”
— Matthew 7:21
Choose this day whom you will serve.
He has shown you what is good.
Walk in it.
