I Am the Way, the Truth & the Life

Lesson 3: Jesus Is the Only Way to God — No Alternatives, No Exceptions

One Narrow Road

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” — John 14:6

Not a way.

The way.

Jesus didn't leave room for interpretation.

The Modern Church Disagrees

Over 60% of young “born-again” Christians believe other religions can lead to heaven.

Even in churches, people nod politely and whisper,

“Well, God knows their heart…”

They don’t believe the words in red.

This Is Not Confusion — It’s Rebellion

To deny Christ as the only way
is to call Him a liar.

It’s not humble.
It’s not inclusive.
It’s blasphemy.

If Jesus Isn’t the Only Way, Then…

  • The cross was unnecessary.

  • Martyrs died in vain.

  • Missions are cruel.

  • Repentance is optional.

  • Christianity is just one more religious hobby.

The Apostles Were Not Confused

“There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” — Acts 4:12

Not one of many.
The only one.

They staked their lives on it.
And lost them.

Why This Matters

If you remove the exclusivity of Christ:
You don’t have a softer Gospel.

You have no Gospel at all.

What’s Driving the Decline?

  • Culture preaches tolerance.

  • Seminaries avoid absolutes.

  • Churches fear offense.

  • Christians confuse kindness with compromise.

The Church Reflects the World

The church was called to be a lighthouse.

Instead, it’s become a mirror.

We now say:

“Many paths lead to God.”

God says:

“There’s only one.” — Matthew 7:13–14

Pluralism Kills Evangelism

If Jesus isn’t the only way,
why preach?

Why call sinners to repent?

Why send missionaries?

Why die for the Gospel?

Answer: You wouldn’t.

And many don’t.

The Cost of Cowardice

A church that denies Christ’s exclusivity:

  • Loses its mission.

  • Forfeits its message.

  • Diminishes Christ.

  • Comforts the lost in their lostness.

Truth Is Not Arrogant — It’s Merciful

Telling people Jesus is the only way isn’t harsh.

It’s hope.

It’s rescue.

“Enter by the narrow gate…” — Matthew 7:13

Broad is the road to destruction.
Only one leads to life.

What Must Be Recovered

  • Clarity in preaching.

  • Courage in evangelism.

  • Conviction in doctrine.

  • Confidence in Christ.

Christ Alone, Or Not At All

You cannot have Christianity without Christ alone.

He is the only door (John 10:9).
The only mediator (1 Tim. 2:5).
The only Savior (Acts 4:12).
The only name (Phil. 2:9–11).

There is no plan B.

What This Means for Us

Preach it.

Teach it.

Live it.

Proclaim to the world:

“Jesus Christ is Lord,
and there is no other.”

The Church Must Choose

Will we echo culture?

Or will we stand with Christ?

“Do you also want to go away?” — John 6:67

Answer with Peter:

“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” — John 6:68
